== Installation ==

= Method A — ZIP upload (easiest) =

1. Zip the folder `namecentury-chat` into `namecentury-chat.zip` (the ZIP must contain `namecentury-chat.php`).
2. Log in to WordPress Admin (`/wp-admin`).
3. Go to **Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin**.
4. Choose the ZIP → **Install Now** → **Activate Plugin**.
5. Go to **Settings → NameCentury Chat** → enable chat → enter your site/store name → **Save**.
6. Open your public homepage (not Admin). You should see a blue **Chat** button.
7. Start a test chat. Reply from Social NameCentury → group **Chat Support**.

= Method B — FTP / File Manager =

1. Upload the whole `namecentury-chat` folder to `wp-content/plugins/namecentury-chat/`.
2. In **Plugins**, click **Activate** on NameCentury Chat (Free).
3. Continue from step 5 above.

= WooCommerce =

No separate install. If WooCommerce is active, chats are tagged as store visitors automatically.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Where do I reply to customers? =

In the Social NameCentury app (or https://namecentury.us/app/) → group **Chat Support**. Not inside WordPress Admin.

= I don’t see the Chat button =

Confirm the plugin is **Activated**, Settings → Enable chat is on, and you are viewing the public site (not `/wp-admin`).

= ZIP upload fails =

Use Method B (FTP) or ask your host to raise the upload limit.
